Mainly designed to be a therapeutic and life transforming program, Teen Challenge boarding schools also excel in its accredited academic program with fully equipped classrooms and certified teachers on campus every day. Course work is transferable back to the child’s home school and diplomas are awarded to teens who graduate while in a Teen Challenge school. Their dedication to help boys and girls grow behaviorally, spiritually, and in character is in addition to their desire to provide boys and girls with a quality education and quality care.
Troubled Boys and Girls Come to Teen Challenge Schools from Arkansas and from All Across America
Teen girls and boys come to Teen Challenge from around the country, including from Arkansas. Most Teen Challenge students are from families who live several hundred miles away from the campus. We find it constructive for teens to effect change in a new environment detached by miles from their old peer groups who may be near Arkansas.
Teen Challenge boarding schools provide a dynamic and dedicated staff who wrap teens in love when they are at their worst. Teens who are in our care participate in individual and group counseling and spiritual guidance. Teens progress through five periods of growth until they gain a new mind-set and are ready to return to normal life at home. Outside of structured sessions, therapy takes place as teens relate with our team of Christian mentors and staff during class time, recreation, meals, and even chores. Our staff reside with the teens in the dorms and humbly share their lives out of a desire to positively affect the teens.
Teen Challenge Residents Learn to Help the Community As Well
Another key gauge of growth is an attitude of service and giving to others. Teen Challenge strongly encourages community commitment and giving through serving. Teen Challenge teens serve one another, serve the community and learn to serve the world. Service happens on campus; during community trips to shelters, churches, and parks; and in missions opportunities such as building homes for the disadvantaged. Nurturing maturing teens means instructing them how to serve others, and we work hard to lead by example. The volunteer work is completely charitable and unpaid.
