In addition to traditional boarding schools in Kansas, Teen Challenge is staffed to work with struggling adolescents who are spiraling out of control or showing a lack of motivation, anger, self-harm, academic difficulties, substance abuse, or discord with family and others. As a Christian therapeutic boarding school, Teen Challenge boarding schools are operated with the firm conviction that permanent change happens from the inside out.
Tuition at Teen Challenge programs may be less than you might imagine.
In addition to being a therapeutic and life-transforming program, Teen Challenge boarding schools also excel in its accredited academic program with fully equipped school facilities and qualified teachers on campus every day. Course work is transferable back to the child’s home school and diplomas are awarded to teens who graduate while in a Teen Challenge school. Their dedication to help adolescents grow behaviorally, spiritually, and in character is matched by their desire to provide boys and girls with quality education and quality care.
Teen Challenge Welcomes Teens from Kansas and from All Across America
Adolescent boys and girls come to Teen Challenge from around the country, including Kansas. Most Teen Challenge students are from families who live several hundred miles away from the campus. We find it advantageous for teens to grow in a new environment detached by miles from their old peer groups who may be near Kansas.
Teen Challenge boarding schools provide a dynamic and dedicated staff who provide each student with an atmosphere of love when they are at their worst. Teens who are in our care receive individual and group counseling and spiritual guidance. Teens proceed through five measures of growth until they gain new attitudes and are ready to return to regular life at home. Beyond scheduled sessions, therapy happens as teens interact with our team of Christian mentors and staff during class time, recreation, meals, and even chores. Our staff reside with the teens in the dorms and humbly share their lives out of a wish to deeply influence the teens.
Teen Challenge Residents Learn to Serve Others As Well
An added prominent indicator of growth is a desire to serve and share with others. Teen Challenge heavily promotes community involvement and giving through serving. Teen Challenge teens serve one another, serve the community and learn to serve the world. Service happens on campus; through community trips to shelters, churches, and parks; and in missions experiences such as teaching orphaned children. Nurturing maturing teens means instructing them how to give to others, and we endeavor to lead by example. The volunteer work is completely charitable and unpaid.

More about Teen Challenge boarding schools in Kansas:
Kansas (KS) is a U.S. state located in the Midwestern United States. It is named after the Kansas River which flows through it, which in turn was named after the Kansa Native American tribe, which inhabited the area. The tribe’s name is often said to mean “people of the wind” or “people of the south wind,” although this was probably not the term’s original meaning. Residents of Kansas are called “Kansans.” For thousands of years what is now Kansas was home to numerous and diverse Native American tribes. Tribes in the Eastern part of the state generally lived in villages along the river valleys. Tribes in the Western part of the state were semi-nomadic and hunted large herds of bison. The ten largest cities of Kansas are: Wichita, 385,577; Overland Park, 178,919; Kansas City, 147,268; Olathe, 130,045; Topeka, 127,939; Lawrence, 89,512; Shawnee, 63,622; Manhattan, 56,069; Lenexa, 49,398; Salina, 48,045.
